Creating a bot in TradeLocker is an intuitive process that allows you to use AI to turn your ideas into code.
This guide will walk you through the steps, from generating an initial strategy to refining and testing your bot.
Step 1: Ask the chatbot to generate a strategy
Start by opening the Chatbot interface within the TradeLocker Studio
Type a Request: Ask the chatbot to create a trading strategy.
For example, you can say, “Generate a scalping strategy for Forex,” or “Create a bot for trading Bitcoin with risk management.”
The AI will generate a basic strategy based on your input.
Step 2: Review the generated code
Once the AI generates the strategy, the underlying code and configuration will be displayed.
You have the following options:
- View the code: Inspect the generated code to understand how it works.
- Edit the code: Make any necessary modifications to better align the bot with your trading goals.
- Backtest the strategy: Test the bot’s performance against historical data to evaluate its effectiveness.
Step 3: Refine your bot
If the initial strategy doesn’t fully meet your needs, you can continue chatting with the AI to refine it:
Ask the AI to tweak certain parameters, add indicators, or change the risk management approach. For example, “Increase the stop-loss limit” or “Add a moving average crossover signal.”
Repeat this process as needed until you create a strategy that fits your preferences.
Step 4: Customize the bot’s parameters
After finalizing the core strategy, you can further customize the bot’s settings:
- Adjust Trading Rules: Set entry and exit conditions, position sizing, and risk limits.
- Optimize Performance: Fine-tune parameters like indicator values, timeframes, and trading hours for optimal performance.
Step 5: Backtest the strategy
Before going live with your bot, it’s essential to validate its performance through backtesting:
- Choose historical data: Select a relevant time period to test the strategy.
- Evaluate results: Analyze key metrics such as profitability, drawdown, and trade frequency to assess the strategy’s viability.
- Adjust: Based on the backtest results, make further tweaks to improve the bot’s performance.

Step 6: Deploy your bot
Once you’re satisfied with the strategy, you can deploy the bot.
Make sure to monitor performance. Keep an eye on the bot’s performance and make adjustments as needed.
Besides creating your own bots, you can also try those created by others. Explore the Marketplace to find a bot that suits your needs. Click here to see the full guide.
